What is French Online?

French Online is an e-learning method for beginners to learn French via Internet. It has been developed to meet the growing demand for learning French in areas where formal teaching institutions are not available, or for professionals who are unable to integrate regular classes into their demanding schedules.

French Online is an ideal combination of distance and face-to-face learning. The medium of communication, the Internet, allows students to study at their own place, at their own pace. A custom-designed e-learning platform enables the tutor to maintain regular contact with his/her class through a forum, class discussions and e-mail. Moreover, a workshop is organized at the end of every module in which learners get together with the tutor in order to practice conversation and perfect their French pronunciation. These workshops are designed to ensure that participants get maximum opportunity to express themselves in French.

Course Outline

French Online offers 5 levels. Each level is of two months duration. On registration, students are assigned a personal password that remains valid for the duration of the level.

Each level consists of the following:

• Four modules on the Internet

• Workbook & the accompanying CD

• Fortnightly workshops with a trained tutor for conversation & pronunciation practice

The e-learning platform allows students to form a virtual class. The email, forum and chat enable the students to interact with their tutor, administrator and colleagues.
